Aaron and I celebrated our sixth anniversary camping at Caddo Lake. I just wanted to enjoy my time, not stress, and just take in how beautiful it was. I finally decided to pull out my camera right before sunset on our last night. Earlier that day we rode our bikes through the campsite – it was beautiful and peaceful. Then Aaron convinced me to get in a canoe. Um… I thought he was going to kill me after the first 2 minutes. Every bump, wave, movement – I squealed and tensed up. I’m not a huge fan of lakes, and you better believe I did not want to be swimming in lovely Caddo Lake! All the images that day were taken with our trusty iPhones. I’m not brave enough to bring my camera on a bike or in a boat. Have I mentioned I’m clumsy?
So right before sunset, we went fishing. I must mention that Aaron likes to fish maybe a little too much! He was so dang frustrated he hadn’t caught a fish yet…. so off we went to fish again. Aaron with his fishing gear, me with my camera & cosmo – the magazine, not the drink.
Walking away from our campsite…
Aaron did his fishing…
Give me a magazine, and I’m a happy camper!
Camping face! Dang, that’s rough!
Aaron crashed the “party barge”. He must’ve really wanted a fish. Who just walks onto someone’s boat without permission?!
There are many things wrong with this following picture, but the one thing that has to be mentioned – the fishing fanny pack. Oh yeah, he’s got a fishing fanny pack.
Evidence of Spring!
Once we made it back to our campsite, we made surprise cake in the dutch oven. I was a little hesitant to eat something that felt it necessary to promote it’s “new improved flavor”.
We forgot the can opener.
Here I am, patiently waiting for the surprise cake. Don’t hate me cause I can rock a farmer’s tan AND fit a giant campfire marshmallow in my mouth!
