Shut the front door!

I am in desperate need of this sign. Seriously.

Not sure I can justify $175, but it would’ve been hilarious just to hang it by the front door and see if Aaron noticed. I love the guy, but I can’t even count how many times he has left the door open! Maybe this reminder would help? Or quite possibly, he’d start leaving the back door open instead.

One Day Without Shoes 2011

Yesterday was TOMS One Day Without Shoes campaign. The whole point of going barefoot can’t be summed up any easier than this…

If you can’t tell from the picture below, I love TOMS! And I’m so excited we are offering TINY TOMS in the boutique beginning this summer!!

undefined

Yesterday, we left our shoes at the house and went everywhere barefoot. Yes, everywhere! Despite our previously scheduled dentist appointment, Kids’ Day Out, and daily errands… we sucked it up, and stood apart from the world, hoping people would ask us why. Little did I know how weird Denton really is! Can you believe not one person asked me where my shoes were? I guess being barefoot was the “artsy” thing to do. But even though no one thought this was out of the ordinary, I could see them staring at me all crazy like. I declared it One Day Without Shoes to at least ten different people, just so I’d feel better about being barefoot. Honestly, they looked at me even weirder for randomly giving them an explanation, but who cares!

I asked people to send in photos of their day without shoes, and my favorite was going to get a little something special from me just for being awesome. If you’re wondering why you had no clue about this contest, you need to go add me as a friend on facebook. I posted about being barefoot all day!! There’s no way you could’ve missed that! So go friend me or the boutique!!!

Here are the submissions I received, as well as the Lee family’s day without shoes.

Just the thought of going to a Rangers’ game barefoot makes these feet the winner! That’s some dedication. Plus, I really loved the picture!

So for the winner…. soap, lotion, a pumice stone & file, and my favorite nail polish colors! Now, go clean your feet!!!

Man and Wife

Just a little peek from the super adorable wedding I shot yesterday! Loving love right now!

Camping in Caddo Lake

Aaron and I celebrated our sixth anniversary camping at Caddo Lake. I just wanted to enjoy my time, not stress, and just take in how beautiful it was. I finally decided to pull out my camera right before sunset on our last night. Earlier that day we rode our bikes through the campsite – it was beautiful and peaceful. Then Aaron convinced me to get in a canoe. Um… I thought he was going to kill me after the first 2 minutes. Every bump, wave, movement – I squealed and tensed up. I’m not a huge fan of lakes, and you better believe I did not want to be swimming in lovely Caddo Lake! All the images that day were taken with our trusty iPhones. I’m not brave enough to bring my camera on a bike or in a boat. Have I mentioned I’m clumsy?

So right before sunset, we went fishing. I must mention that Aaron likes to fish maybe a little too much! He was so dang frustrated he hadn’t caught a fish yet…. so off we went to fish again. Aaron with his fishing gear, me with my camera & cosmo – the magazine, not the drink.

Walking away from our campsite…

Aaron did his fishing…

Give me a magazine, and I’m a happy camper!

Camping face! Dang, that’s rough!

undefined

Aaron crashed the “party barge”. He must’ve really wanted a fish. Who just walks onto someone’s boat without permission?!

There are many things wrong with this following picture, but the one thing that has to be mentioned – the fishing fanny pack. Oh yeah, he’s got a fishing fanny pack.

Evidence of Spring!

Once we made it back to our campsite, we made surprise cake in the dutch oven. I was a little hesitant to eat something that felt it necessary to promote it’s “new improved flavor”.

We forgot the can opener.

Here I am, patiently waiting for the surprise cake. Don’t hate me cause I can rock a farmer’s tan AND fit a giant campfire marshmallow in my mouth!
