What happens when you organize…

You find pictures from April 2009… which makes for a completely random blogpost! These were taken by my husband while I was location scouting in Wichita Falls.

I totally miss those flip flops, even though they left green circles on my feet! I wore them until they fell apart. I need some good metallic sandals this season to replace those. Suggestions?

I miss my aviators. I found them in my dad’s hunting backpack about a year after he died, and didn’t wear another pair of sunglasses once while I had those. I cried when they broke last summer, which is silly – I know. I haven’t found a pair that quite look like them yet.

I guess I’m too committed to my accessories. I literally wear them till they break off my body!

I’m finally organizing my personal pictures. I have piles and piles of gigantic files that need to be sorted, purged, and saved to another location. I have had this computer for less than a year and it’s completely full. If it tells me one more time my startup disk is full while I’m uploading wedding images… I think I might pour my diet coke on it.

Hannah’s Bridals

This bridal just barely happened! After all the rain we got here in Denton, it wasn’t until the weekend before the wedding we finally got the chance to get together. I’m so glad we pulled this off. Hannah was gorgeous, and the hanging frames turned out so much better than I even anticipated. Thanks Hannah for being open to new ideas and bringing your fierceness. And congratulations!! I wish you and Mark the best and can’t wait to share some of your wedding images!

Stroller Love : Boutique Product Review

I’m not kidding when I say I’ve owned 5 strollers. And just to remind you, my kids are 3 and 15 months. Of course we purchased the stroller that matched the car seat and the pack n’ play, and I used that for awhile. Then I realized just how obnoxiously big it was, so we moved on to an umbrella type stroller. It was definitely smaller and convenient, but such a hassle to push around. The wheels on those things are a joke. That one was short lived. So on we went to the jogger. This one was pretty cool cause it served a different purpose AND had speakers so I could jam out to my ipod. Uh, yeah, I said jam… and if you know me, you know it was more like a high pitched, sing songy “jaaaaaaam”. I’m laughing at myself right now because I just realized that all of those strollers were mine before I even had a second kid. Wow. So, second kid…. I need a two seater. We got a double BOB and pushed the girls in that for about a year. I love that stroller, I really do. Here’s the only problem I have with it… people stare. Some would run to grab the door for me, because I must have looked like I desperately needed help. I’d smile and tell them I was fine, it’ll fit through that door… but their faces always scrunched up and they held their breath while I pushed through. I just barely fit through every door. Just. Barely. I’d have to check and make sure little hands were inside the stroller, avoiding any smashed fingers and potential meltdowns. And shopping in a department store, forget it. Weaving in and out of the clothes racks was too much for my oldest… more times than I can count, she’d pull a few dresses into the stroller with her. Okay, all that to say… I love my BOB. I still have it and it’s awesome for jogging. But it wasn’t the perfect stroller.

When looking for a stroller to carry in the boutique, Aaron and I did lots of research. We wanted to find something that was ranked high in safety and had a high approval rating. We tried lots of different strollers from the ABC Kids Show, and one just could not be topped. The UPPAbaby! It moved so easy (no picking it up and shimmying to make it turn right – you know what I’m talking about!). It made turns easily with one hand. It’s functionality was crazy smart. Bassinet for when they are a newborn, coordinating connecter bars to fit any car seat, a seat when they get a little older that faces forward or backward, a piggy back (skateboard) for an older child, the option of a rumble seat for a third kid, and a really big basket for my stuff. So not only is all that stuff amazing, this company also thought of a way to use the bassinet outside of the stroller. You can purchase a stand to hold the bassinet beside your bed. No need for one of those expensive, frilly bassinets that only get used for a month or two… you get one with the purchase of an UPPAbaby Vista Stroller. Once your child grows out of the bassinet, the stand can become a laundry hamper. Genius. This stroller really is the most functional, easy to use, multipurpose stroller you can buy.

So how much does this amazing stroller cost? I know that’s what you’re wanting to know! Is it more expensive than the very first stroller I bought? Yes. Is it LESS expensive than the ever so popular Bugaboo or Orbit? Yes! Even better because the UPPA knocks the functionality of the Bugaboo and Orbit out of the park! What I really want to stress to families is… don’t skimp on a stroller. Its one thing that you will take with you everywhere, and quality makes a huge difference. Save yourself the money and buy the good stuff first so you don’t have to replace the not so good stuff 4 or 5 times like I did!! I could’ve saved myself 4 extra strollers, and a little over $1000 if I would’ve known better.

So that’s my spill. Feel free to ask my questions or give your opinions!

Jessica - You have just validated all my theories about strollers & the UPPA Baby in particular.

What is the stroller in the photo next to it?

May 16, 2011 - 12:32 am

Angie - It’s the UPPA G-lite. Kinda like an umbrella stroller, but better! The wheels move easier than any umbrella stroller I’ve pushed. Plus it won’t break like other umbrellas since it’s made from airplane aluminum just like the Vista. And it only weighs 8.8 pounds. Can you tell I love me some UPPA?!

He couldn’t wait…

He couldn’t wait any more. It’s like he knew Mothers’ Day was almost here, and he wanted to spend it in his mama’s arms at home. And so this little man came a few weeks early, just for his mommy.

And I couldn’t wait to share at least one! Might as well make it two… he’s just too darn cute not too!!
