Zoodles

Addy loves to play the computer. I want to let her, but my only problem is Dora. Addy loves Dora, I do not… but that’s kind of a different story. Maybe someday soon I’ll devote an entire post about why I dislike Dora so much! But anyway, Zoodles! I don’t even know how I came across it, but one day I discovered Zoodles.com. It is like a one stop site of every preschool game, book, or activity on the web. The greatest thing – I can have complete control over what content I want to block. Can you guess which character I blocked first?!! That alone sold me. Even better… it comes as an app on your iPhone or iPad. So anytime Addy is playing on my phone, my husband’s phone, the iPad, any computer I’ve downloaded the software to… she gets to play on HER Zoodles account. Awesome!

What’s even more amazing – I get weekly emails updating me on everything she has done that week. I received this email yesterday…

I smile every week at her drawings. I knew she was getting better at drawing, but when I sign in to her Zoodles account, I can actually compare week to week. Her little people have seriously improved!!

Addy’s graphs look really different most weeks. This past week, she only spent her Zoodles time on our phones or iPad – neither of those have Flash player, so it limits what she can actually do. Here’s a weekly update when she actually spent time on the computer…

So anyway… lots of parents don’t care about all this stuff. I understand that. But this Early Childhood Certified Teacher who is now a stay at home mom really enjoys seeing what my baby is learning. She is a genius after all.

15 reasons…

Here’s 15 good reasons I should have another baby…

I’ve got about a thousand more reasons to have just one more, but the pictures above are good enough for me! Now this is not an announcement that I’m pregnant or even trying to get pregnant… I just think my girls are ridiculously adorable and wanted to share the cuteness!

And just to put it out there, I’d be lost without my iphone and instagram. Who needs a fancy schmancy camera?! I’m planning on getting some of these printed soon, and while I know the quality of my Mark II images is unmatched, I’m curious to see how these iphone images print. Maybe I’ll share my opinion when I get them back?!

Cookies for Kids’ Cancer

My friend contacted me last week with an idea to host a Cookies for Kids’ Cancer Bake Sale. All she needed was a place and I am grateful she asked me to help. Aaron and I knew when we started this baby boutique that we didn’t just want to run a successful business… we wanted to help others and make a real difference in our community. I can’t think of a better cause than pediatric cancer research. So please come out and buy some yummy treats! My friend makes some seriously awesome cake balls… I’m sure you won’t be disappointed!

Come out and support pediatric cancer research by purchasing cookies and other treats that have been donated! Can’t make it? You can bake cookies, brownies, rice crispy treats, etc to donate. If you would like to donate, please contact Chrissy at this facebook event page.

Remember, on average 12,500 children are diagnosed with cancer each year (that’s about 46 children per day). About 35% of them will die from their cancer. Less than one percent of all funds donated to the American Cancer Society go towards pediatric cancer research. For more pediatric cancer info go to www.ccofa.org or www.cookiesforkidscancer.org.

Please help or donate or come buy some sweets!

Nephew #4

Check out my newest nephew. I did a short little session with him a few days ago. It would’ve been longer, but wouldn’t you know… once the girl with the camera gets there he decides to have his longest awake time ever! Once he finally did go to sleep, little man did not like me messing with him. I laughed while he peed everywhere, refused my poses, and grunted at me. He better get a little more used to crazy Aunt G with her mondo camera!!!

I’ll be attempting a few family shots with big brother later today… so you’ll be seeing more of this handsome guy soon!

Fall is in the air!

I walked outside this week, felt a nice cool breeze, and immediately wanted some candy corn. Never have I been so happy to see a summer end!! We have been stuck inside for the past 3 months. My girls were going stir crazy, and I wanted to pull my hair out!! Seriously, worst. summer. ever. I’m hoping the cooler weather sticks around for awhile. We are definitely a family that likes to be outside!
