I told you guys my Monday blog posts would be random. And I definitely delivered. Let me warn you, not only am I a rambler, but this post is super personal today simply because it’s what’s stuck in my head right now. I hope that’s okay with you guys!
I get so frustrated with our society and things that are accepted as normal behavior. What happened to those days where all boys were gentlemen, women dressed like ladies, and everyone was friendly no matter what? Nowadays people will wear anything and let pure craziness fly out of their mouth. They say hurtful things, just trying to manipulate you to get what they want. Is it really worth it? Sure… you got what you wanted… but trampling all over someone’s feelings in the process? I just don’t get it.
Maybe it’s because we have become so impersonal with one another. An email, text, even a phone call… it makes it so much easier to be down right mean, right?! Don’t get me wrong, I think technology is great. I just spent a few hours at the Apple store today, drooling over new products, awesome computers, all those things that keep me away from my family and friends. Things that swallow my time and keep me in my own little photography world. I’m sure every photographer out there knows exactly what I’m talking about. It’s easy to get caught up in things that “need” to be done, emails that have to be written, price lists that have to be updated, albums that are waiting to be designed…. but can’t we set it down and be real people at least a little bit throughout the day. Get back to a simpler time, when spending time with friends actually meant seeing them face to face. When being with your family involved no iPhones and no nick jr. I challenge you to spend some quality time with your friends and family this week. I promise you’ll eventually see the things that are really important in this life. Cause when it comes right down to it… does it really matter what your 982 facebook friends are eating for dinner, what adventures the backyardigans are getting into, or if your work gets put on the backburner for just a few more hours?!
On another note! Check out this quick senior sneak… (sorry your beautiful, happy face got put on this super depressing post Ashley!) More to come soon!
